Our Weekend

Well.  I think it's safe to say that March has come in like a lion.
It's freezing cold and we've shoveled at least 3 new inches of fresh snow off our driveway.
But it didn't stop us from having a great weekend!

I got up on Saturday morning and ran.  For the first time in a long time, I ran and it felt AWESOME.
Yes, I was on the treadmill.  Yes, I only did 2 miles.  But it was great and that's all that matters.

By 9:30 we were out the door and on our way to the movie theater.
Eleanor has been talking about the Lego Movie all week.
I think it's all about "peer pressure" in this case.  I don't think she really cared to see the movie, but all her friends have been talking about it at school, so, of course, she wanted to go see it.  Believe it or not, Eleanor doesn't really ask to go do a lot of things or ask for a lot of things, so this was something we could easily oblige.

And I mean, seriously!  Who doesn't like a big ol' bucket of popcorn for breakfast!  And I'll be honest with you.  We ate almost all of it!  Have you seen the Lego Movie?  It's not too bad.  Pretty cute.  Although, for the rest of the day we had to listen to "Everything is awesome!".  At least with the Frozen songs, we get a few more words.  This song literally repeats "Everything is awesome!" over and over again!

We ran a few errands and even got a nap in!

Then it was off to the Auto Show.  Surprisingly enough, Andy nor I had ever been to the Auto Show.  But it seemed like a good place to start the process of car shopping.  All the models in one place, no pushy car salesmen to bother us and Eleanor could climb in and out of cars as much as possible.   We aren't buying a new car today or tomorrow, so we just nosed around getting a feel for which car we would want.

Er....should I say, which model.  Because I know what I want.  Everyone knows: that I want a mini-van.  Yup.  That's right.  Just embrace it - right?  So, when the time comes, and we actually have a need to increase our car capacity - this is my dream car!

We also found a few Eleanor sized cars too!  She thought it was the coolest thing ever that we let her climb in the driver's seat of the cars (obviously, not something we ever let her do at home) and she even proclaimed the Auto Show was the most amazing place ever!  (She's easily amused!)

After the Auto Show, we took a snowy walk a few blocks east to Rock Bottom Brewery.  They have a "Build Your Own Pizza" that Eleanor just thought was the coolest!  When they showed up at the table with her raw pizza dough and toppings, her eyes were as big as the pizza dough!
Seriously, I was still in a popcorn bucket coma!  But enjoyed dinner and a beverage none-the-less!
And here we are - Sunday.  Ready for some more errands and "family dinner".  Then off to work tomorrow!

Hope you had a great weekend too!
