Oliver Newborn/Sibling pictures

Image
I can't believe how much blogging I have to do!  I haven't even posted pictures of Oliver's nursery yet! Before I get there - I just have to share a few of Oliver's newborn pictures.  One of my first sleepless nights I got it in my head that I wanted needed newborn pictures of Oliver.  Technically, I knew I was capable of taking pictures of Oliver...but Oliver AND Eleanor?  Together?  Impossible!  Poor planning - right?  Who just has a baby and then decides to take newborn pictures?  I mean - I had to book my wedding photographer MONTHS in advance.  There is no way I was going to find a photographer this fast.  And knowing me, I'd Google search it and end up with some hack and then I should have just taken the pictures myself!  So I asked the Facebook who they would recommend and received a few good suggestions, but several people recommended Now It's Personal Photography .  I sent Tanya an e-mail and asked...

Happy 1 Month Oliver!

Image
Oliver is 1 month old! What is more amazing - that Oliver is already 1 month or that I'm actually blogging on his 1 month "birthday"?? (Well - I started...I didn't actually get around to posting it)   Peanut Eleanor at 1 Month (January 24, 2009) So what's new with Oliver? Technically not much has changed in the last week. Oliver still nurses almost every 2 hours.  Nursing is still going great, super easy...however, it's REALLY hard to pump for my "reserves" when I'm feeding every two hours.  These means I still need to be around for every one of Oliver's feedings.  I did get a night out on Wednesday...but I have to pick my outings carefully...I only have a few remaining frozen ounces on reserve.  For several reasons, we had to switch pediatricians (I won't get into it online) and met with our new ped. on Thursday.  Andy and I both agreed this will be a much better relationship.  We had a great conversation w...

Oliver -- 3 Weeks

Image
Well, Wow. My baby is 3 weeks old! (Well - he was on Monday, when I started typing this post) So what does life look like for a 3 week old?     First of all - nursing.  Oliver likes to eat about every 2 hours during the day.  This can stretch to about 3 hours and on rare occasion, 4 hours at night.  Nursing is SO much easier with Oliver than it was with Eleanor .  From the moment he was born, Oliver latched on and nursed like a champ. I'm not cracked, dry or bleeding...in fact I don't even use the lanolin lotion.  However...Oliver nurses every two hours, so it's almost impossible to get in any pumping, which means I am the only person/thing that can feed him.  It gets really exhausting being in that position.  If I have multiple errands to run, I have to run them in shifts, because I need to come back and nurse.  And forget about actually going anywhere to get away.  (I'm not talking l...

A few days late - but - Happy Anniversary!

Image
Given the state of mind that my family is in these days...I find it impressive that I am only 5 days late in this post!  State of mind = tired.  Exhausted.  Newborn obsessed!  Kindergarten focused! Happy Anniversary, Andy!  I can't believe that (on September 7) we have been married for 1 year!  I truly feel that we have been married for so much longer...but that's probably given the year we have had.  In the past 365 days:: I married my best friend.  My love.  I got a new job - an amazing new job - a challenging new job. We found out I was pregnant. We sold our house (SO STRESSFUL) Bought a new one and moved into the house of dreams. We bought a new car. We had a baby. We sent our "baby" to Kindergarten. I'm not really sure what else we could have crammed into a year.  Some people can go through these major life events and feel the stress pull at their relationship - I found each event to...

September 11

Image
Almost every year I find myself blogging on September 11.  Generation upon generation can tell you where they were on that fateful day.  I could recount every moment of that day...13 years ago. 13 years ago. I could tell you about the days after that.  How I ended up spending time with my family because the nightmares were so intense I just needed time with my mom and dad.  I remember where I was on the 10 year anniversary. I remember where I was on the 12 year anniversary.  Perhaps the most impactful anniversary.  Because we spent it in New York.   They tried to take something away from us.  They tried to make us scared. They brought our country closer together - prove that we stand united.  To the people that ache today.  That relive fear, desperation, exhaustion, loss...as a country, we stand with you and we will never forget.  God Bless America.

A week in review

Image
What a week we have had in the Bach household!!  Sorry it's another long one.  If I actually kept up with blogging during the week, you wouldn't have to read such epic novels.  But as you'll see...life has been crazy. I need to start with Tuesday - even if that's not the practical place to start. Our little Ms. Eleanor started Kindergarten.  Watching her become a big sister is an event by itself, but combine it was school and this little girl literally grew up before my eyes.  Everything about her seems different.  She is a different person to me.  (more on that later). Hold on one second - let me rewind to the previous Wednesday.  Upon being discharged from the hospital, we got home just in time to take Eleanor to Open House.  I told you I would, no matter what, I was taking my daughter to Open House AND her first day of school.  I was discharged just in time!  However, about 15 minutes into the Open House I started swea...
