Happy Halloween 2015

Look at me!  Taking pictures and blogging all in the same day!
But - this is actually pretty easy, because it's going to be mostly a picture blog.

This year I asked Eleanor what she wanted to be for Halloween.  I asked and I held my breath!  I was waiting for "Elsa" or some other Disney Princess.
Eleanor shocked me when she said she wanted to be "Mary Ingalls" from Little House on the Prairie.  I waited a few days and asked her again.  I received the same answer.  And so I set out to find a costume...that would cost me less than $120 on Esty!  (For what it's worth, I found this AWESOME outfit for around $20 on Amazon!)

Then I asked Oliver what he wanted to be.  And he stared at me.
I felt bad that I wasn't making either of their costumes...but I'm actually over it.
In talking with one of our friends, we got around to talking about her son's first trick or treat...I asked to borrow the Halloween costume...done.  One freaking adorable Elephant later....

Gah!  Aren't they just adorable!  Eleanor LOVED her Halloween costume and Oliver actually tolerated his!  He even kept the head on the entire time and begged to put the costume back on when we took it off....

But once we got outside, I realized how ridiculous it was that we were even outside!  It was raining and cold.  OK, maybe not raining, but that super annoying horrible very fine mist.   Argh.  Annoying.  However, Eleanor stated that nothing was going to keep her away from trick or treat this year...so off we went!
Eleanor had an umbrella for a few houses but FINALLY realized it was just slowing her down and so Grandpa got it instead...
I decided that Oliver and I were going to head back and help Grandma pass out candy.  Oliver got two pieces of candy from the two houses he went to and had just as much fun watching all the Trick or Treaters from the warm, dry house!

I just can't get enough of him in that costume!  Especially when he walked and the little tail moved back and forth.
This is by far the furthest Eleanor has ever made it with trick or treating!  Even in the super fine annoying mist rain!  And she came back with the loot to prove it - including 1 stuffed animal, 2 full size candy bars, and 1 bag of cheetos.  She did NOT come back with any sixlets or those nasty peanut butter taffy things that no one likes but me.  Wah - Wah.

She's had two pieces of candy from her bucket and she'll probably forget about the rest and never have any more!
And then as if we didn't have enough candy, my mother decided to bring cookies to decorate.  They had fun decorating them...and then we all go to eat them.
To end our evening, Andy put Oliver to bed and Eleanor read Grandma and Grandpa Halloween book after Halloween book....

So, that was it.  That was our Halloween.  Perfect...albeit soggy.  A fun time was had by all!  Happy Halloween!!
