Happy Thanksgiving 2015!

Another Thanksgiving in the books.
I just haven't been in the blogging mood, but somehow Eleanor discovered the blog.
She LOVES reading all the old entries...so I feel compelled to keep writing.
And I know some day I'm really going to really appreciate that I kept this up.

Sigh.

So Thursday.
I don't know why but "Turkey Trots" have really gotten a bad rap.
I love them.
And you know what they say about girls that run!

We've actually been doing the Drumstick Dash all 4 years of the 4 years it's been in existence.
I mean...how cool is that??
Our running partners have changed a bit through-out the years, but there have been some constants as well!

My parents met us at Woodman's around 7:30 that morning so that we didn't have to run with the kiddos.  Both Andy and I have really increased our per mile running average and were both looking forward to an actual race.  Plus it was a little rainy, with the threat of actual rain imminent!  It held off for the entire run, but the rest of the day was pretty much a wash!

Andy and I had to duck out of the post-race celebrations and get to Cedarburg to pick up the kiddos and get on the road for Neenah.  Thanksgiving this year was at Andy's Aunt and Uncle.
We celebrated with his mom and step-dad, siblings and step-siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandparents...it was a full house.  All the way home Andy and I would make occasional comments about how lucky we feel.  We just have such amazing family!  We had such an amazing time and it always feels like it goes too fast and that you don't get to talk to everyone for long enough!

The kids all do great too!  Everyone plays together and there is no fighting...the adults all play well together too! :)

Christmas Card Attempt...Instead I got cheesey smiles...sigh
So all the way home it POURED.  Big fat drops of rain...but it didn't stop Sara and I from going out for our annual Black Friday shopping.  First I went to Michael's by myself.  I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but it's just a good time for good sales.  I stock up on scrapbooks, Cricut supplies and other misc. scrapbooking supplies.  Then I met Sara - and Max (my 12 year old nephew) at Target.  Ho-hum.  It was not exciting.  But still we made ourselves go to Kohl's too and I was home by 10:30.

The next day we put up all our Christmas decorations - but that's another post for another day.

Saturday we got our Christmas Tree - see sentence above.

Saturday  night we went to Cedarburg to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family.  It was another great celebration, just confirming for Andy and I how lucky we are to have the family that we have!

I mean...it has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it had to be included!
On Sunday I wanted to cook our own Thanksgiving dinner.  We didn't get leftovers, which is the best part of Thanksgiving dinner and on Saturday my family made a prime rib, so no Turkey leftovers.  I made a 10 pound turkey, Andy carved it.  We had sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and gravy.  Unfortunately...we ate it all and there still weren't any left overs!

So that's it!  Thanksgiving 2015!
We are so blessed.  I can't even begin to count my blessings!  I'm really looking forward to an amazing holiday season!

Hope your Thanksgiving was as delicious and as blessed!
