Go Pack Go
2016 has already been a crazy year! I've spent one week in Cleveland and one week in Lake Geneva for work and it's only January 13 (how is it only January 13??).
So before my crazy work adventures started - Andy and I got to spend a night away in the happiest place on earth: Lambeau Field!
Back in July my college roommate sent a message indicating her dad's Season Tickets (yes, that needs to be capitalized) were available for the Jan 3 game. Andy and I IMMEDIATELY jumped on 2 of them. Another college roommate took the other 6. Everything was going along just fine until the stupid NFL changed the Packer game to 7 PM! It was supposed to be a noon game and everything got ruined!
But not for Andy and I. So my parents made it to our house around 1130 and Andy and I took off to Lambeau. I lost my fleece lined running pants and it was supposed to be a COLD game - and since my snow pants are from high school, I knew I wasn't going to fit any other type of pants under them (insert gritting teeth emoji here!) After running around to Kohl's and finally Dick's, I found what I was looking for. We stopped for lunch at Water Street Brewery in Grafton and were finally on our way! Our ride up to Lambeau was silent...because we were getting caught up on Serial, season 2...SO GOOD.
Once at Lambeau (OK, Green Bay) we checked into our hotel: Le Chateau De Pere (please see that in your best french accent!) It was an awesome hotel. Andy and I had decided an over priced hotel was the best insurance against a DUI! Aaaaannnnndddd, since neither Andy nor I really wanted "hold back", we needed some insurance!
We had a shuttle that was going to take us over to Lambeau, so we bundled up and head out! YA HOO!
We decided we may need a little pre-game and grabbed a drink at a classy joint a beer from the gas station. I wanted to share one, because I knew we had a long night ahead of us...however, I didn't realize 1) our shuttle ride was going to take an eternity 2) we could bring beer on the bus with us!

So discrete!
The shuttle filled up fast!
But meet up with our group we did - So good to see this guy! And so proud of his hat choice and team choice in general. Now if only I could get his family to move to this state!!

So - to say the least - Andy and I had an amazing time. I mean. It doesn't surprise me. We always have a great time together. But I do sometimes wonder, am I ever not going to be not surprised at how much fun we have. At how much I love spending time with him? And how much he is truly my best friend? Is it because we are still "newlyweds"? Are we really "newlyweds"? Is it because I never expected to feel this way again? Didn't think I'd get to feel this way?

Oh, you know...just me and Andy at a PACKER GAME!

Once we realized we were going to lose, we beat the crowd and head back over to Stadium View. We went to the back bar, which was EMPTY. We got a spot at the bar and made fast friends with the bar tender. Alas, the game ended and the bar filled up and our bar tender got a little crazed.
Andy and I didn't want to feel rushed for the last shuttle at 12:30, so we head over to the shuttle station for the midnight shuttle. Andy and I both agree...we sure wish we could watch a video of us stumbling around, making our way back to the shuttle.
We did stumble into the Lambeau Leap statue and got someone to take our picture. And I just love this picture, because it's SO iconic Dana and Andy!
We got our shuttle, which happened to have Christmas lights on it...so me and Andy and 5 (4?) (maybe 6?) of our closest new friends sang some Christmas carols back to De Pere! Near our shuttle stop we noticed a lonely little bar. Andy and I never have ignored a lonely little bar. So we went to keep it company....until bar time! We made it out until bar time! What?? WHO ARE WE??
And for what it's worth - we are proud of the Packers too. They didn't win the game...but they didn't have to play Seattle either.
And after our night away we were ready to go home and ready to be Mom and Dad.
