Craftin by the Creek
Now, I'll let you know that I have no kickbacks for saying this, but seriously, check this place out.
It's just beautiful and while it's really designed for crafters (scrapbookers and quilters) anyone can rent the house. Typically, I sit in my chair and never move from my table....I have a mission of getting some serious scrapbooking done....and typically, we are there in November or January and we don't have any reason to do anything else. But this time, being 5 1/2 months pregnant (OMG - I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant already!) and being May, we actually got up and out a little bit. We sat outside and even took a nice 3 mile walk.
OK, so I know you are judging me right now. I mean, what kind of DORK goes scrapbooking all weekend? This dork! :) It's my hobby and I just love it. And lucky for me, my sister got into scrapbooking too and now it's something we can do together. I mean seriously, for an entire weekend I sit across from this girl and we just get to talk! And, there are other people we know there (mostly my sister's friends), so when we get sick of each other, there are other people for us to talk to.
Of course, we seldom get sick of each other and usually just wish the weekend could last longer! It's a productive weekend (I'm just about done with Eleanor's baby book now) and just a super fabulous time for me to spend alone with my sister.
So if you are a crafter or not - you should check out Craftin By the Creek for a weekend retreat with the girls. It's super reasonable and a beautiful place in a beautiful location. And if you want - my sister and I can come with you because we are super fun!
Craftin last November (clearly, this is NOT a picture of me 5 1/2 months pregnant)
Decisions, Decisions...trying to turn all these pictures into a decent scrapbook page.
We get a little slap happy sometimes - but if you're lucky, maybe you'll learn a new song. Or have my sister provide you with a free concert...Well worth the price of admission.
Seriously, we just went for the weekend...No, you don't need to bring your own TP - Mel found it on sale at the local Pig and couldn't pass up a good deal.
